A little girl,
a dream,
and a whole lot of love.

I'm Alex Sterling — and this is how a movie, a stepdad, and a small electric stove turned into Sterling Silver Spoon.

My love for cooking started long before I ever sold my first plate. As a little girl, I watched The Princess and the Frog almost every single day while my mom was at work. There was something about Tiana's determination, passion, and dream of building something through food that stuck with me. Even as a child, I didn't realize it then, but that movie planted a seed.

As I got older, my obsession with food only grew. I spent hours watching the Food Network, and Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives quickly became my favorite show. I loved seeing different restaurants, unique recipes, and the stories behind the people who built them. It made me realize that food wasn't just something people ate — it brought people together and told a story.

At 13 years old, I started cooking alongside my stepdad. Those moments in the kitchen taught me more than recipes. They taught me patience, creativity, and the joy of making something with love. Before long, I was creating meals on my own.

By high school, I found myself cooking simply because I loved seeing other people enjoy my food. Making meals for friends and family became my way of showing love. Seeing someone smile after taking their first bite became one of my favorite feelings.

When I went off to college, everything changed. My mom gave me my first week's allowance, and instead of spending it on clothes or entertainment, I invested every dollar into buying a small electric stove. I turned my dorm room into a tiny kitchen and started cooking for myself. Soon, people smelled the food, started asking questions, and then started asking if they could buy a plate.

The demand grew so much that I eventually moved out of the dorms and into my own apartment so I could have more space to cook. What started with one small electric stove, a dream, and a passion for feeding people slowly grew into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

Today, that same little girl who watched The Princess and the Frog every day is building a business inspired by the lessons she learned from Tiana: work hard, stay faithful, serve others with love, and never stop believing in your dream.

Every plate I serve is a reminder of where I started — and proof that sometimes the smallest beginnings can grow into something truly special. This is only the beginning.

"Work hard, stay faithful, serve others with love, and never stop believing in your dream."
